A new experience for Virginia’s Commonwealth
The Virginia General Assembly approached us to request a complete refresh of their 30 year old public-facing website. Working together with their team we launched a total overhaul of their digital experience.
We rebuilt the site architecture around three major themes - Visit, Learn, and Engage. This simple wayfinding system helped to direct students, visitors and legislators who all have different needs and expectations. Working with General Assembly team, we built a design that supported their in-person tourism experience, developed integrations for their constituents to dynamically show the status of legislative chambers, and devised a full content reorganization including copy rewrites and photography selection.
The result is a transparent, welcoming digital experience that serves Virginia’s democratic process. Whether discovering Capitol history, learning about legislation, or tracking bills, Virginians now have clear pathways to participate in and engage with their government.
